Finally got my Flickr back in shape. My lovely sister, Jamie, bought me a pro account for a year, so this should be fun! I’m excited to be able to upload as many pictures as I want. So far, just lots of pictures of people, people, people. Planning on branching out soon. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/emilyarnold/sets)

Okay and this couple: They’ve been married for 60 years. I teared up looking at these beautiful pictures of them.

Heaven Breaks
We’ll pray for Heaven’s floor to break, pour the brightest white on blackest space, come bleeding gloriously through the clouds and the blue, forcing one place from two, killing formulaic views. Only love proves to be the truth. {Sleeping at Last}
I Can Feel
I can feel God changing my heart. And wow. It was starting to feel pretty hardened there for a while. But I think He is cracking it apart, softening it, molding it, shaping me. I love learning from the Great Teacher. I love when my heart feels light. Thank You Jesus.

Before I really got into photography as a serious hobby, this was the question I asked more often than any other. When I looked at the pictures other people were making, I was hit simultaneously with waves of curiosity, followed closely by sharp pangs of jealousy. How does one take a picture that…

Seeds in the Ground -- Jeff Pianki
You’re a memory from a photograph I found, A broken picture frame lying on the ground. I’m forced to believe in something that can’t be In a world that won’t wait for me to come around. LISTEN: http://jeffpianki.com/album/i-want-you-to-have-this

Since tomorrow and every day afterward is unknown, I will embrace it and expect to be surprised.
It’s time to revoke disappointment and recoil from bitterness. It’s so reassuring to be reminded that love comes from unexpected people in unexpected places on the most dreary days. Love: like manna…
So stinkin’ cute.
Birdcage Religion
So slowly I’m losing who I’ve sworn to be. A promise in pencil that years have made so hard to read. I’ve spent my life building walls brick by brick and bruise by bruise. A birdcage religion that whispered me to sleep. But time is spinning silk that coils ruthlessly; with the devil’s patience, it binds my hands so quietly that soon it becomes a part of me. So soften these...

It’s her birthday. I really love this girl. I thought it would be fun to post pictures in light of the holiday. (Get ready for some oldiez.) And she’d hate me for this, but now for some of my favorites of just her: Happy Birthday to you Jadey. Ps. I can’t believe how happy I got throwing this together.

Oh So Cute!
It was a fine day in the first grade when Mary May let Bobby walk her home from school. He had her books in hand, and he was listening to every word she said like it was the gospel of the prophecies. And he loved the way her hair fell across her dress. Went home singing, “Who wrote the book of love” and try a little tenderness.
The next day on the playground, Bobby sat Mary down on the swing...
In Each Season, I Can Bring You Joy
“Even Here” by Rachel Chan
I know your pain, I hear your cry, And I have been there too. And I promise not to leave you. Soon you will see what I can see. Child, keep your eyes on me. You’re right where you should be. But don’t fear anything, Cuz I’m here and I can bring you joy, Even here I’ll bring you joy. There’s a reason for everything, In each...
